COURSE NUMBER AND TITLE:  ENV112 - Introduction to Land Planning 


CATALOG DESCRIPTION:

This course emphasizes the biological and physical environmental 
aspects of land planning in order to minimize the human impact 
on the natural environment. Includes the use of the land planning
process in community planning. Also included is an introduction to 
state and local land use law in community development.

PREREQUISITE(S) (IF ANY):  None

GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF COURSE:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to 
demonstrate through appropriate class work and projects an 
understanding and working knowledge of environmental and 
legal factors which are used in sound land planning. 
Also the student will show an understanding of the basic 
cultural, historical and legal perspectives which 
influence land use.


LEARNING ACTIVITIES: 

Class Lecture, Discussion, and Projects. Field Trips when possible

GRADING POLICY:

Evaluation Method:  Tests 50.0%; Projects 16.7%
                    Final Exam 33.3%

N.B. Late Reports, Labs, etc., will not be accepted.

instructor in written form, i.e., letter.  Should
makeup be approved, it must be completed on the day 
of return, whether or not there is a scheduled class.
